Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick review

Makeup Reviews, Reviews

Ever since I heard about Bite Beauty, I knew I really wanted to try one of their lipsticks. However I was tentative of buying yet another nude lipstick or another light pink. I wanted something different.

I didn’t want something as much of a statement as kale or as bold as kimchi. I wanted (as Bite Beauty put it) and edgy neutral.

The Edgy Neutrals line is a collection of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks featuring eight “nude” shades ranging from Honeycomb (a beige nude) to Molasses (a rich toffee). This line was clearly designed with a range of skin tones in mind, so if you’re someone who struggles to find a nude lipstick that works for you skin tone, then I would suggest trying out a shade from this line.

I picked out Cava, which is a wearable lilac named for the Spanish sparkling wine.

The lipstick comes in a black tube, which luckily doesn’t collect dirt like the NARS packaging. The cap is a standard lipstick cap, except (per the name of the brand) it has a bite taken out of the top.

The lipstick it’s comes in a typical bullet form with the Bite Beauty logo stamped on it.

The formula is everything I could ever want in a lipstick. It’s full coverage and it glides onto my lips so smoothly. For me, this lasts about 4 hours without eating  or drinking anything. It also wears well and doesn’t come off awkwardly so I walk around with my lipstick only on half my mouth.

Here’s a lip swatch of Cava (bear in mind my lips are quite pigmented). The scent of this is light but noticeable. It smells fruity, but not in an artificial way (ahem, Too Faced). I also find this to be fairly moisturizing which I like in a lipstick.

Is Cava not the perfect shade for you? This line has 34 shades, so you’re bound to find something you like.

The best part about these is they are made with natural ingredients such as citrus extract (scent) and oils for nourishment.

Quick note: If you are allergic to anything that can be an oil (sesame, castor seed, sunflower seed ect.) I would suggest you take a look at the ingredients on the Sephora website here to make sure you aren’t allergic to anything in this lipstick.

Overall, I really love this lipstick. Both the color and the formula are a total win for me and I really recommend it.

(Also as someone who loves cooking, I really like the name Amuse Bouche and all the other food inspired names).

Ciao bella!

I’d love to check out rhubarb! Chai and meringue are next on my too-buy list because I have no self control with neutral lipsticks.
