Gone swatching: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche liquified lipsticks

Gone swatching

Ciao!

In my opinion, Bite Beauty can do no wrong. I love their Amuse Bouche lipsticks (review here), and I’ve also recently tested out their whipped cherry lip scrub and their priming stick. I typically don’t use either of those things because I can easily make a lip scrub myself and I get lazy when lip looks require multiple steps because that’s hard to apply on the go.

However, in the time I’ve tested those items out, I’ve loved them. Bite beauty products are all natural which is great especially for a lipstick company because I care most about how natural products are if they’re on my lips.

I was at the Bite Beauty lip lab in New York (post on that soon!) while I was there last week where they had the entire Amuse Bouche liquified lipstick for sale and to test. I, of course,  jumped at the chance to swatch it all took photos to share with all of you!

Gone swatching: Glossier boy brow

Gone swatching

Ciao!

I was recently at the Glossier HQ in New York which was incredibly cool. It was an amazing experience to have, the coolest part being that I got to swatch and photograph every single thing they sell (which means you should expect a ton of posts with all of the glossier products). This post will be about one of their best selling items: the boy brow.

I was super excited about this except for one catch: would the brown be too dark? I’d seen varying images on social media about how strong it is so I was unsure.

As far as brows go, I’ve only used two brow products in my life (besides, horror of horrors, a shimmery eyeshadow), which was the Julep Don’t Leave Your Brows at Home and the Benefit brow gel. The Benefit brow gel left my brows crust and shiny in an unnatural way and the Julep pomade was both bad and way too warm for me.

So with that being said, I went into this experience excited, but a little hesitant. Would it be like the Benefit gel? Would the color match my brows? What was in store for me inside the Glossier Showroom?

Gone swatching: Urban Decay Naked Heat palette

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

I recently did a dupes post on this here, but I though I should share the swatches I did of this palette at a Sephora recently. I’m actually in New York right now and I’ve been doing a ton of swatches from Glossier, Bite Beauty, and Sephora, so I’ll be posting those soon!

I read the review from The Anna Edit and I wasn’t interested in buying because with her review she seemed a little underwhelmed with the palette. She either disliked or wasn’t going to use 7 of the shades which is over half the palette. She wasn’t thrilled with some of the formulas and thought the colors were too bold. So for me, that cut through the hype and I decided against buying it. You can read her review here if you’re interested.

Then, I swatched it myself, and was surprised with it. I love the quality of this, and I actually really like the colors. Like a lot more than I thought I would. I like Urban Decay matte shadows, and these are no different, thought they feel more blendable then the shades from the Naked 3 palette.

This is part one of two posts: the second will discuss the other part of the Naked Heat collection including the eyeliners and lipsticks.

Gone swatching: RMS luminizers

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

Today I’ll be sharing some swatches of the RMS luminizers, including the living luminizer, magic luminizer, and the master mixer.

I’ve recently reviewed the living luminizer here, and I’ve everything about it. For more of my thoughts on the formula, click the link above to see the full review.

I want to start out by mentioning how much I love the packaging for the RMS products. They’re all so elegant with the white screw tops and frosted glass bottoms.

For now, keep reading to view the swatches of the various hyped highlights RMS offers!

Gone swatching: Clinique Cheek pop

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

Quick note: Ignore the price tag in the photo above. This photo was text in Canada when these retail for $29 CAD. In the US, they’re $23 USD.

Today I’ll be sharing some swatches of the popular cheek pop by Clinique. I really love this blush! I’ve swatched 4 of the available 11 shades.  I couldn’t help but notice that each of these shades looked similar to Elf Blush palette in light. I’m not saying they’re exact dupes, but blended out on the face they might look very similar…

Gone swatching: Burberry fresh glow highlight

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

While I was in Milan, I did some swatching at a Burberry store. One of the things I decided to check out was the Burberry fresh glow highlight- a powder version of their popular fresh glow primer.

Like all Burberry products, the packaging was stunning, but I was curious. Does the product inside match the hefty price tag?

Gone swatching: Kiko Milano Mini Divas collection

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

Today I’m sharing swatches and a short review of the products included in the Kiko Milano Mini Divas collection.

The Mini Divas collection is a set of products that are travel sized. It recently launched to celebrate Kiko Milano’s 20th anniversary! This collection includes an eyeshadow (4 shades), a blush (1 shade), a bronzer (1 shade) an eyeliner and mascara duo (1 shade), lipsticks (3 shades), an essentials kit (scissors, tweezers, nail file & a case), a clear clutch, a kabuki brush, and a cleanser duo.

That’s a lot, so expect a long post.

I’ve swatched most of this line and photographed what was on display so let’s take a look!

Gone swatching: Marc Jacobs highliner

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!
While I was in the (huge) Sephora in Milan, I made sure to swatch a few products. I was especially interested in some of the new releases from Marc Jacobs that many people had been raving about.
The one that I though was closest to my price range was the matte highliner (I’ve been eyeing the extensive range of blues and a rich brown called (earth)quake).

Gone swatching: Tom Ford lips and boys

Blog, Gone swatching

Ciao!

During my layover in London Heathrow yesterday, I wandered over to swatch a few products (believe it or not, this is where over 50% of my gone swatching photos come from).

I chose to swatch some luxury products because- why not! I’m unlikely to actually buy Tom Ford, but it’s always fun to test out the products and see if they live up to the hype.

In the case of Tom Ford, it’s extremely hyped. I’ve tried a few things (my mom owns an eyeshadow palette, a bronzer, a lipstick, and an illuminator from him) and each time, I always feel like I can get something like it for cheaper. I’m not too much of a dupe hunter and most of the time I’ll settle for paying more, but in this case I never think it’s worth it.  Keep reading

Gone swatching: Essence say no to redness

Blog, Gone swatching

I actually first heard about this when Jessica Braun (@jambeauty89) talked about this in one of her videos. She didn’t like it at all, but her explanation wasn’t very thorough so I was a little skeptical.

She can’t be right I though. How badly can you mess up a color corrector?

Turns out, the answer is quite a lot actually.
