Last week I was in New York, beauty capital of the world. I did quite a bit of shopping while I was there, but both places I bought from were places I couldn’t go at home.
First I went to the glossier showroom where I swatched everything they sold and picked up a few things for myself.
Second I went to the Bite Beauty lip lab where I created my own lipsticks alongside my mom. I’ll be doing individual posts on both of those experiences soon!
I also had the amazing opportunity to visit Winky Lux and received a ton of PR from them. I won’t be including that in this post because not all of the items are available for purchase yet, however expect reviews soon!
At the Bite Beauty lip lab, both my mom and I did the Bespoke service where we got to make a lipstick specifically designed for us. I picked a nude shade and red shade, while my mom tried to match a discontinued MAC lipstick for my grandmother and picked a sheer oxblood for herself.
Thus far I am loving my lipstick and the lip scrub. I haven’t tried the lip mask yet or the lip primer, but they seem great!
At Glossier I got their mega greens galaxy mask and their boy brow (see swatches here). I also picked up a sample of the milk jelly cleanser, but I had to ask about it. If you visit the Glossier showroom, ask what samples they have! They won’t give you any unless you ask, but it’s a great way to test out products without committing to buying a full size.
I’ve used the mask once and I’m not sure what I think. My face felt super smooth, but the next day I broke out in little bumps around my eye (not sure if that was related). I am loving the boy brow, obviously because it made it into my July favorites. I haven’t tried the milk jelly cleanser yet, but I can’t wait!
Some of the products in this post were given to me for PR purposes through the company.
