November favorites

Blog, Favorites

This post is so, so, late, but here are my favorites for November!

I got really into purple eyeshadow this month, inspired by the Kylie Cosmetics purple palette. Right now I’m not interested in purchasing from that company, but it did make me realize how much I really like purple eyeshadows. That lead to a purchase from Colourpop during their buy one get one free sale of a couple pressed powder shadows.

I also fell in love with deep mauve lipsticks and basically lived in them the whole month.

Keep reading to find everything I loved!

1. Colourpop pressed powder shadows in pinky promise, silver lining, and double date

Double date and silver lining were the two purple shades I used the most this month. I was a little disappointed with the pressed powder shadows I ordered for Halloween, but these are amazing! I blended silver lining into the crease with my all time favorite matte eyeshadow 46 from Kiko Milano (which I just hit pan on!) and applied double date all over the lid for the ultimate soft purple look.

I got the Colourpop magnetic palette with this order which I think is amazing and sturdy, so much so that I picked up another one in the larger size.

Pinky promise is a lovely Burgundy color that I like to apply all over the lid for a deeper look. This also goes perfect with a mauve lip. Speaking of which…

2. Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche liquified lipstick in Mauvember

So Bite Beauty created two shades, for the third year in a row, to support the Movember foundation, named MAUVEmber because, well the shades are mauve. This year, the colors (which are similar but not identical) come in two formulas: the multistick and liquified lipsticks (I swatched the whole line here).

Here’s what Sephora has to say about the proceeds of the lipsticks:

Half the sale from each Mauvember lipstick and 100 percent of Bite Beauty’s proceeds will go directly to The Movember Foundation.

What this means is that Bite Beauty is not making any money off the lipsticks. Sephora is. Just something to keep in mind. This was available for November, and is still in stock at Sephora. If you want it, pick it up now!

As for the color, I lived in it for the better part of the month. It’s a deep shade, with just the right amount of pink to make it easy to wear. It wears pretty well, and it super easy to apply. I love the flat tipped applicator!

3. Benefit Roller Lash in brown

If you’ve been with my blog from the very beginning, then you know this was actually a repurchase. You can check out the hauling which I mention it here. The one I have is getting a little dried out, so I’ll be repurchasing it for the third time soon. My blog has officially spanning the life of a mascara!

This is my all time favorite natural mascara, and here’s why: a voluminous, lengthening mascara, gives my lashes a nice lift and enhances them. However a black mascara does that and significantly darkens my lashes, which is often more of a bold look than what I’m aiming for. So time and time again I come back to brown mascara for my everyday looks.

Specifically, I love this mascara. It’s not waterproof or smudge proof, but it stays in place if I son’t rub my eyes. There’s no flaking, smearing, or transferring, which is great. It claims it curls your lashes, which is debatable. I still use a lash curler with this because my lashes aren’t naturally curled, but that doesn’t bother me.

Overall, I will be repurchasing this for the rest of my life. It’s absolutely my favorite mascara for everyday looks.

4. Winky Lux Kitten Eyeshadow palette {review}

If you’ve read my review, you know that I actually got this palette in July, but couldn’t blog about it until it’s launch in early October. However, this palette came out recently in a Boxycharm, meaning all of my favorite YouTubers and bloggers had the palette and were creating awesome looks with it.

I typically draw from one side of the palette or another, using purr/holographic, Romeo, and cheshire to create a look or duchess, strut, cateye, and boots. And the blue shade, 9 lives, I never use. It’s both blue, and bad. Luckily, it’s the only dud in the palette. Using KathleenLights’s tutorial, I used both sides with strut and Cheshire in the crease with a bit of boots. On the lid, I applied holographic with my finger to really get a metallic look.

The mattes blend incredibly well, and I’m super impressed with the pigment of the shimmers. If you want a truly blinding look, apply it with your finger.

Finally, the packaging is adorable, and sturdy. I highly recommend this palette!

5. Colourpop Lippie Stix in lumiere

I bought this back in August (see the full haul here!) and hadn’t really used it till this month. Now I know how much I love it. It’s deeper than the mauvember shade and matte, so often I apply it over a lip balm to lighten it slightly.

Every time I wear this, I have to remind myself I only paid $5 for it. It lasts quite a long time on my lips, and it’s an absolutely beautiful shade. If the Bite Beauty lipsticks are out of your price range, this is an amazingly affordable option too!

6. Glossier cloud paint in dusk {review}

This was one of the very first products I ever reviewed on this blog! I recently placed an order from Glossier, and picked up this blush along with a few other things. I love puff too, so lately I’ve been mixing the two of them together for a lovely nude pink shade.

This also works as a really subtle bronzer/contour! These blushes are perfect for me because they blend really well and look completely natural.  I have a discount link for 10% off on your first purchase here. I do receive an in store credit when you use it, but I get to put that towards buying new products!

That’s everything I’ve been loving this month! Clearly a lot of lips and eyes. What have you been wearing this month?

Ciao bella!
