I recently reviewed The Body Shop’s matcha green tea face mask (you can check it out here), and fell so much in love with it that I even included it in my September favorites. After that, I ordered some of the mini mask samples from The Body Shop’s website (they had a 3 for 2 deal on them) to test out the rest of the masks and I picked up some in store samples.
This was one of the in store samples, so no matter how hard I tried, I only had enough for one use. Keep reading to see my thoughts on it!
Like the matcha tea mask, this also had a fragrance to it. It smelled strongly of acai (shocker) which didn’t bother me, but it wasn’t my favorite scent ever.
Also similar to the matcha tea mask, this had small particles in it for lightly exfoliating your face as you wipe it off. I really like this in my face masks because then it works to clear my skin in two different ways.
I found the mask itself to be underwhelming. At the time, I was having skin issues involving breaking out and rough patches on my skin, and I didn’t find this to offer any long term solution.
Right after I used it, my skin perked up a little and my face looked radiant. My face was also quite soft. However as time went on, that sort of faded and I was left with the same skincare issues as before.
It was a gentle mask, so I recommend this if you’re looking to relax or if you’re someone who’s main skincare concern is dull and dry skin. If you’re looking for something that will clear pores and fix pimples, then this is not for you.
Quick thing I want to mention: The Body Shop has taken an initiative to get 8 million signatures on their petition to bring a worldwide ban on animal testing to bring to the UN general assembly in 2018. The Body Shop has a long history of being a pioneer in the world of speaking out against animal cruelty. You can sign the petition and read more about it here!
