The matchup: 5 step makeup

Blog, The Matchup

Ciao bella!

I haven’t done a post like this in forever, so I figured it was about time!

Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about simple and easy makeup, so this post is dedicated to my five step, two minute makeup that I’ve been wearing a lot recently. Essentially, this is a companionship post to my July favorites. if you follow me on Instagram, this is basically all I’ve been featuring on my stories. It’s perfectly subtle, and couldn’t be easier. I love this look because it highlights my features without being too strong or obvious. It’s best for a summer day because it’s light and quick to apply.

Let’s get into it!

First, I applied the glossier lidstar in cub (swatches here) to my lids and blended it out with my finger. The nice thing about this is that you can adjust the intensity of this eyeshadow whether you want metallic rose gold, or just a simple shimmer. This is also very long wearing, which surprised me. in short, if you want subtle easy makeup, this is the eyeshadow for you.

Next, I swiped on a little of the Benefit roller lash mascara (pictured above). This actually does curl my lashes, which simplified my makeup routine because I don’t have to use a curler. This comes in a black color too, but I prefer brown for simple makeup. It defines my lashes without being too much.

For the cheeks, I used the Olio E Osso balm in 02 French Melon. It gives my cheeks the best rosy glow without being too strong. It’s also moisturizing and easy to blend. It’s a little more long wearing than the glossier cloud paints (for a full list of my favorite cream blushes, read this post here), but still pigmented. Also, it smells like grapefruit which is a bonus, because I love grapefruit.

Then I applied a little bit of my favorite highlighter– the RMS living luminizer (shown above). I reviewed it here, back when it was almost brand new. I haven’t quite hit pan on this, but I have a huge dip in it because I use it basically daily. It has no pigment to it, just shimmer which makes it perfect for a simple look because there’s no way to over do it. I apply it to my cheekbones with my finger, then in my inner corner, and above my cupids bow.

Another well loved favorite, my Buxom full on lip cream in cherry flip. I love red lips, but they can be impossible to wear. They bleed, smear, and feather. when I want a pop of color on my lips, but I don’t want to go through the process of putting on a lip primer, a lip liner, and constantly checking for smudges. This does claim to be plumping, which I generally hate, but I don’t notice any plumping or stinging (besides a slight menthol taste).

What have you been wearing lately?

Ciao bella!
